Chibougamau Reports New Polymetallic Intersections at Depth

Chibougamau Independent Mines Inc. has reported new assay results from the Berrigan Mine Project in Quebec, revealing significant polymetallic intersections at depth. The results, provided by optionee TomaGold Corporation, confirm the vertical continuity of the mineralized system and validate the geological model for the Berrigan Deep Zone.

Drilling Results Highlight Extensive Mineralization

The extension hole TOM-25-011EXT, drilled to a depth of 834.70 meters, intersected a 204.25-meter mineralized envelope grading 2.05% zinc equivalent (ZnEq) or 0.48 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq) from 553.90 m to 758.15 m. Within this envelope, several high-grade lenses were identified, including 31.31% ZnEq (7.38 g/t AuEq) over 2.40 meters, 5.93% ZnEq (1.38 g/t AuEq) over 4.60 meters, 5.90% ZnEq (1.38 g/t AuEq) over 7.45 meters, and 4.62% ZnEq (1.08 g/t AuEq) over 14.40 meters.

Additionally, the hole intersected a shallower zone grading 3.02% ZnEq over 12.45 meters, including 16.23% ZnEq over 1.40 meters, before reaching the Berrigan Deep Zone. The original hole TOM-25-011 had previously identified higher-level zones, such as 14.14% ZnEq over 2.00 meters.

Geological Context and Validation

The results confirm the presence of a deeply rooted polymetallic hydrothermal system beneath the historic Berrigan Mine, with mineralization controlled by regional structures and localized within contact breccias. The mineralized envelope consists of ultramafic to mafic rocks, including serpentinitized peridotites, komatiites, pyroxenites, and gabbros. Mineralization occurs as stockwork veins, sheared veins, and semi-massive to massive sulphides dominated by sphalerite and pyrrhotite.

Pending Results and Next Steps

Assay results are pending for four other extension holes: TOM-25-009EXT, TOM-25-010EXT, TOM-25-012EXT, and TOM-25-013EXT. Mineralization was consistently observed in drill core from these holes, and results are expected to further define the extent of the Berrigan Deep Zone. A preliminary 3D model is available online.
