Windsor Man Charged with Sexual Assault After Social Media Stalking

Windsor police have charged a 24-year-old man who allegedly used social media to track a woman and sexually assaulted her on two occasions. The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was arrested June 2 by the Ontario Provincial Police repeat offender parole enforcement squad in LaSalle.

Investigation Details

Officers from the Windsor Police Service child abuse and sexual assault unit began investigating on June 1 after receiving a report that an 18-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted twice by a man she met online. According to police, the woman had only briefly communicated with the suspect starting May 28, when he followed her on a social media platform.

The following day, the suspect approached the woman at a business in the 2700 block of Tecumseh Road East. Police allege he threatened her, forced her into his vehicle, and sexually assaulted her. The next day, he tracked her again via social media to a business in the 2400 block of Dougall Avenue. He allegedly followed her into a women's washroom and sexually assaulted her a second time before fleeing when another person entered.

Charges Laid

The suspect has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of uttering threats to cause death, in addition to one count each of assault by choking, forcible confinement, and criminal harassment. Police noted that these charges follow a separate incident from December 2025, when the same suspect was charged with sexual assault, choking, and robbery after connecting with another woman on a social media platform. Those charges are still before the court.
