Ontario Provincial Police say a 69-year-old intoxicated man from Elliot Lake threatened a victim with a knife following an argument. The incident occurred on July 3, according to police reports.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to the point where he brandished a knife, police said. Officers responded to the scene and took the man into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.

Charges and Investigation

The OPP have charged the senior with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing. Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the altercation.
