The Calgary Police Service traffic unit is investigating an early-morning single-vehicle collision that sent one man to hospital Sunday.
At 6:20 a.m., a man in his 20s was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze southbound on Macleod Trail at 94th Avenue S.E. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a traffic signal pole on the centre median.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition and has since been upgraded to stable, though he sustained life-altering injuries.
CPS say speed and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in the collision.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call 403-266-1234. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, www.calgarycrimestoppers.org, or the P3 Tips app.
