A man was shot while sitting in a vehicle outside a home in Surrey, British Columbia, late Friday night, according to the Surrey Police Service.

Police responded to reports of gunshots in the 12700 block of 90A Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a parked vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“The investigation is in its early stages, and we are working to determine the circumstances surrounding this shooting,” said Surrey Police Service spokesperson Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha. “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area to come forward.”

Ongoing Investigation

Police have not released any suspect information or a possible motive. The area was cordoned off for several hours as forensic investigators processed the scene. The Surrey Police Service Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.
