Ottawa Woman Charged in 2025 Death of Clarence-Rockland Man

An Ottawa woman has become the second person charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a body in connection with the 2025 death of a Clarence-Rockland man. The Ontario Provincial Police announced on Friday, June 12, that 37-year-old Jessica St. Michael was arrested a day earlier with assistance from the Gatineau Police Service.

Details of the Arrest

St. Michael remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on Friday, according to a police news release. The charges against her include first-degree murder and indignity to a body.

Second Suspect Charged

Earlier, on June 4, police arrested 51-year-old Luc Décarie of St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec. He faces the same charges: first-degree murder and indignity to a body. The investigation into the death of Robert Prévost continues.

Background of the Case

The investigation began on May 17, 2025, when officers from the OPP's Russell County detachment responded to a report of a body discovered in the Ottawa River near Dallaire Street in Clarence-Rockland. A post-mortem examination identified the victim as 63-year-old Robert Prévost, who had been reported missing in March 2025. His death was ruled a homicide.
