Psaki: Trump Turns Easy Presidential Tasks into Disasters

Former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki criticized Donald Trump for turning what should be the easy parts of being president into an unmitigated disaster. While acknowledging that the presidency is a hard job, Psaki noted that there are some parts that should be much easier than others, such as throwing a birthday party for America.

Trump's Failed Celebrations

Psaki pointed to the celebrations marking America's 250th birthday as an example. A planned concert has effectively become a Trump rally after a series of artist withdrawals. Additionally, some states have opted not to set up exhibits at the Great American State Fair, further undermining the event.

“This is supposed to be the kind of thing that is easy for a president,” said Psaki. “It’s kind of the presidential equivalent of a local politician showing up at a ribbon-cutting ceremony, but Donald Trump can’t even pull this off.”

Easy Tasks Become Disasters

Psaki emphasized that even the simplest duties for a president, like celebrating national milestones, have become problematic under Trump. She noted that these failures highlight a broader pattern of mismanagement and controversy.

“For Donald Trump, even the easiest parts of being president somehow all end up being an unmitigated disaster,” she added.
