Arrest Details
Peel Regional Police provided an update on the arrest during a press conference. According to authorities, Sangwin was taken into custody without incident at an undisclosed location. The suspect had been wanted since June 18, when the bodies of his parents were discovered in their home in Mississauga.
Police had issued a Canada-wide warrant for Sangwin, describing him as armed and dangerous. The manhunt involved multiple agencies, including the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Victims and Investigation
The victims, identified as 72-year-old David Sangwin and 70-year-old Margaret Sangwin, were found deceased in their residence on June 18. Autopsy results confirmed they died from blunt force trauma. Police have not disclosed a motive but stated that the investigation is ongoing.
