WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump has resolved his private lawsuit demanding $10 billion in damages from his own administration, alleging mistreatment. As part of the settlement, the Justice Department will establish a billion-dollar “anti-weaponization fund” designed to address claims from individuals who assert they have been subjected to weaponization and lawfare.
Settlement Details
The Justice Department confirmed that Trump himself will not receive any financial compensation from the fund. Instead, the fund aims to create a systematic process to hear and redress grievances from others who claim they have suffered similar treatment.
Background
Mark McCloskey, an attorney who has filed administrative claims on behalf of hundreds of individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol riot, informed HuffPost last week that he had advocated for the administration to establish such a fund to compensate his clients.
This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
