Longtime Trump Supporter Expresses Disappointment on C-SPAN
Trump Supporter Disappointed on C-SPAN

A longtime Donald Trump supporter from Connecticut expressed deep disappointment with the president's second term during a call to C-SPAN's Washington Journal on Saturday. The caller, identified as Edgar, told host Jasmine Wright that he had backed Trump for the past decade and agreed with much of his agenda.

Caller Criticizes Trump's Shift in Priorities

Edgar said he feels confused by Trump's actions, particularly regarding the cost-of-living crisis exacerbated by tariffs and the conflict with Iran. 'I feel as though he's taking a 180-degree turn on his priorities from what he promised us,' Edgar complained. 'We were expecting a golden age and all these positive things to happen. And I don't feel as though that the economy has improved, gas prices are out of whack, and the fact that we're in a war, and he said we'd never be in wars again.'

Disappointment with Allies and Policy

The caller also criticized Trump for turning against former allies like Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, who he said helped put Trump in office. 'I just feel as though that he's not the same Donald Trump that he was, and I'm just very disappointed,' Edgar added. 'I'm not really happy with the state of the country right now where we're at and with the way things are going.'

Edgar expressed hope that there is a rationale behind current policies but struggled to see how 'war and killing innocent children and people like that, bombings and stuff like that, it's going to solve anything.'
