A man in his 30s and a teenage boy were seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in Scarborough on Tuesday morning. The collision occurred at the intersection of Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East around 8:30 a.m., according to Toronto police.
Emergency services rushed both victims to a local trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The driver of one vehicle, a man in his 30s, and the teenage passenger in the other vehicle were both listed in serious but stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police have not released any information about charges or potential contributing factors such as speed or impairment.
Markham Road was closed between Lawrence Avenue East and Ellesmere Road for several hours as investigators reconstructed the scene. The road has since reopened.
