Wall Street Coins New NACHO Acronym Mocking Trump on Iran
Wall Street's NACHO Acronym Mocks Trump on Iran Policy

Just in time for Cinco De Mayo, Wall Street has coined a new insulting acronym for President Donald Trump. Similar to the infamous TACO, or Trump Always Chickens Out, this one also ties to Mexican food. Bloomberg columnist Javier Blas revealed on X Wednesday that a business analyst is mocking the president's handling of the Iran situation by swapping TACO with NACHO.

The acronym is more spicy than cheesy, bluntly standing for “Not A Chance Hormuz Opens.” This refers to Iran's decision to restrict movement through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf where 20% of all traded oil and natural gas normally passes.

Blas posted: “We thought we were getting a TACO 'Trump Always Chickens Out' But so far we are getting a NACHO 'Not A Chance Hormuz Opens' (With appreciation to the trader who told me).”

HuffPost reached out to the White House for comment but received no immediate response. Given Trump's previous reaction to the TACO acronym, he is unlikely to be pleased with this new one. However, he might find solace in an earlier, more positive NACHO acronym coined by Fox News host Griff Jenkins earlier this month: “Never Avoids Confronting Hard Obstacles.”

HuffPost also contacted Jenkins for his reaction to the new definition but got no immediate reply. Social media users offered spicy reactions to Blas's post. One user suggested “FAJITAS? Failure At Jostling Iran Towards A Settlement.” Another noted that “NACHO means to dance in Hindi, and we sure bet he’s dancing around the strait’s opening.” A third quipped, “It’s a paradox. We got both a TACO and a NACHO. You can call it the whole enchilada. There’s only so much one can stomach, and, eventually, we’ll need to take a massive dump.”
