Edmonton police are appealing for witnesses to a two-vehicle collision in west Edmonton after a 78-year-old woman, who initially reported no injuries, died in hospital three days later.
The incident occurred on April 30 at approximately 1:30 p.m. when a 2026 Toyota Camry, driven by an 82-year-old man, was struck on the driver's side by a 2010 Mazda 3, driven by a 29-year-old man. The collision happened as the Camry was exiting westbound on Whitemud Drive onto northbound 170 Street, entering the intersection of the off-ramp.
According to police, neither driver nor the female passenger reported any injuries at the scene, and both drivers reported the incident. However, the woman's condition deteriorated significantly after the crash. She was transported by ambulance to hospital on Saturday and died the following day. Police were notified of her death on Monday.
The Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigations Section has taken over the case and is seeking any witnesses or dashcam footage from motorists in the area at the time. Anyone with information is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
