Edmonton Senior Dies After Being Struck by Her Own Car

A 65-year-old Edmonton woman has died after being accidentally struck by her own vehicle on Sunday afternoon, according to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS).

Incident Details

Police responded to a report at approximately 2:30 p.m. on May 10, at a residence near 142 Street and 92A Avenue. The woman had stepped out of the driver’s side of her car when the vehicle began rolling backward, striking her. Witnesses nearby attempted to assist the woman and alerted authorities, but she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Investigation Underway

The EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is looking into the incident. However, police have stated that the event does not appear to be criminal in nature, and no charges have been filed.
