26-Year-Old Arrested, Accomplices Sought in Eastern Ontario Home Invasion Spree
Arrest made, suspects sought in violent Eastern Ontario home invasions

Police forces across Eastern Ontario are intensifying their search for multiple suspects linked to a disturbing series of violent home invasions that have targeted residences in Ottawa, Brockville, and Limoges. The coordinated investigation has already led to the arrest of one individual.

Multi-Jurisdictional Manhunt Underway

Detectives from the Ottawa Police Service have joined forces with the Brockville Police Service and the Russell County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in a combined effort to identify and locate additional suspects. The collaboration focuses on a string of robberies characterized by authorities as particularly "violent" home invasions that began in December of last year.

In a news release issued on January 14, 2026, the Ottawa Police confirmed that a 26-year-old man is now in custody in connection with the crimes. However, investigators believe he did not act alone and are actively seeking his accomplices.

Chronology of the Violent Incidents

The spree of crimes spans several months and communities. According to police details:

On December 29, 2024, around 1:08 p.m., the accused and two other suspects approached a man sitting in a car near the 200 block of Altha Avenue in Ottawa's east end. The victim was forcibly removed from his vehicle at gunpoint, and his apartment keys were stolen. One suspect then used those keys to enter the victim's residence and stole several items.

Months later, on October 24, 2025, just before 10 p.m., the accused and four accomplices forcibly entered a home on the 1600 block of Marinoff Way, also in east Ottawa. The armed suspects demanded cash before fleeing with stolen property.

A related attempted invasion occurred on January 20, 2025, at approximately 8:55 p.m. The accused and two others tried to force their way into a residence on the 1200 block of Black Canary Drive in Ottawa's south end. The person inside managed to scare the suspects away, but not before the intruders fired several rounds into the home.

Charges and Wider Criminal Links

The arrested 26-year-old is also allegedly connected to criminal activity beyond Ottawa. Police link him to two shooting incidents and a home invasion in the Brockville area, as well as a separate home invasion involving firearms in Limoges in 2024.

The suspect now faces a lengthy list of Criminal Code charges, including:

  • Discharging a firearm with intent
  • Armed robbery
  • Conspiracy to commit indictable offences
  • Breaking and entering a dwelling
  • Possession and use of restricted or prohibited firearms
  • Careless and dangerous use of a weapon
  • Wearing a disguise during the commission of an offence
  • Discharging a firearm in a reckless manner

Authorities noted in their January 14 release that there were no reported injuries from the attacks, a fortunate outcome given the violence described.
