A 21-year-old daycare employee in Edmonton has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation at a west Edmonton daycare facility. The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) announced the charges on Tuesday, following an investigation that began with a parent complaint on April 8, 2026.
Details of the Charges
Kulraj Singh, 21, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. According to police, the charges stem from an incident reported by a parent involving their child at a daycare in west Edmonton. Officers identified Singh, who worked as a teaching assistant at the facility, as the suspect. He was subsequently suspended by his employer, and his childcare certification was also suspended.
Bail Conditions and Restrictions
Singh was released on bail with strict conditions. He is prohibited from contacting the complainant, and he cannot attend public swimming pools, schools, school yards, daycares, playgrounds, libraries, or youth shelters unless accompanied by a sober adult who is aware of the charges. Additionally, he is forbidden from seeking or maintaining any position of trust or authority over any child under the age of 16.
Police Seek Additional Victims
Police believe there may be more complainants, as Singh previously worked at a second daycare facility in central Edmonton. Investigators are urging anyone who may have had contact with Singh or has information about the case to come forward. They can contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
The Edmonton Police Service emphasizes the importance of community vigilance and encourages anyone with concerns about child safety to report incidents promptly.
