Montreal Police Hunt Suspect in 50-Vehicle Theft Ring
Montreal police seek suspect in 50 car thefts

The Montreal Police Department has launched a public appeal for assistance in locating a suspect connected to what investigators describe as a sophisticated auto theft operation responsible for the disappearance of dozens of vehicles throughout the city.

Wanted Suspect and Arrested Accomplice

Giovanni Santos Cabrera, 23, remains at large while police continue their investigation into the alleged theft ring. Authorities believe the operation has been active since July 2024 and could be responsible for the theft of as many as 50 vehicles.

Cabrera's alleged partner, Yvan Jean Elie Adjoumani, 18, was arrested Wednesday in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough. The investigation leading to Adjoumani's arrest has already resulted in the recovery of five stolen pickup trucks that police say were destined for international shipment.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal

Montreal's auto theft squad continues to pursue leads in the case, with investigators noting that many of the 50 vehicles stolen since last summer may be linked to Adjoumani's activities. The recovered pickup trucks represent only a fraction of the vehicles believed to have been processed by the alleged theft ring.

Police are urging anyone with information about Cabrera's whereabouts to come forward immediately. Authorities have provided multiple channels for tips, including emergency services, local police stations, and the dedicated Info-Crime Montreal tip line.

How to Help

Montreal residents with any knowledge of Cabrera's location or information about the vehicle theft operation are encouraged to:

  • Call 911 for immediate sightings
  • Contact their local police station
  • Call Info-Crime Montreal at 514-393-1133 anonymously

The Montreal Police Department emphasizes that public cooperation is essential in resolving cases of organized auto theft, which have become increasingly concerning for vehicle owners throughout the region.
