Richmond Hill Jewelry Store Targeted in Brazen Smash-and-Grab Robbery
York Regional Police are actively searching for at least three suspects following a daring daytime smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in Richmond Hill. The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 5:39 p.m. in the area of Yonge Street and Carrville Road.
According to authorities, a trio of masked individuals entered the store armed with hammers. Once inside, they proceeded to smash display cases, stealing an undisclosed quantity of jewelry before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored sedan. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the robbery.
Suspect Descriptions and Vehicle Details
Police have released descriptions of the suspects, all described as Black males in their mid-to-late teens with thin builds. The first suspect was last seen wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black track pants, black sneakers, black gloves, and carrying a red duffle-style backpack.
The second suspect wore a black mask, a black hoodie with a white horizontal stripe, black track pants, black sneakers, and black gloves. The third suspect had similar attire, including a black mask, black hoodie with a white horizontal stripe, grey track pants, black sneakers, and black gloves. No description is available for the fourth suspect, believed to be the getaway driver.
The suspect vehicle has since been recovered by police and was found to have fake license plates affixed to it, complicating the investigation.

York Regional Police are urging anyone with information about the robbery to come forward. They are particularly interested in dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident. Hamilton Man Faces Multiple Drug Charges After Arrest
In a separate but related law enforcement update, Hamilton Police have charged a 41-year-old local man with drug trafficking offenses. The arrest occurred on Saturday around 8:30 p.m. in the area of King Street West and West Avenue.
Officers conducting proactive patrols observed a group of individuals behaving suspiciously. During their monitoring, they witnessed one man allegedly consuming illegal drugs using a glass pipe. Upon approaching and arresting the individual, a subsequent search led to the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal substances and paraphernalia.
Seized Items and Charges
The items confiscated included 227 Dilaudid pills, 8.16 grams of fentanyl, 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale with drug residue, and two cellular phones. The accused has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of proceeds of crime, and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
