Teen Killed in Targeted Hamilton Apartment Shooting

Hamilton Police have identified the victim of Thursday evening's targeted shooting as 19-year-old Talon Williams-Parkin. The incident occurred inside an apartment on Main Street West near Caroline Street, marking the city's third homicide of the year.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 6:30 p.m. and found Williams-Parkin suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Exchange of Gunfire

According to Detective Staff Sergeant Michael Ebert, investigators believe an exchange of gunfire took place inside the apartment unit. The victim was struck, and evidence suggests one of the suspects may also have been injured. It remains unclear which suspect was hurt or the severity of their injuries.

The suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Police have not confirmed whether a firearm was recovered, as evidence collection continues.

Suspects and Investigation

Investigators describe the suspects as Black males. One is short with long dreadlocks and a fat face; the other is tall, thin, with dreads, and wore a blue face mask. Ebert stated that the suspects and victim were somewhat known to each other, indicating a targeted attack.

Police are reviewing security cameras and CCTV footage from the building and surrounding area. They have spoken to witnesses and residents but urge anyone with information to contact Detective Dan Harris at 905-546-4067 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This killing comes just days after a 14-year-old boy wanted for murder surrendered to police in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old male at Jackson Square last Friday.
