Windsor Police Hunt Second Suspect in Downtown Business Assault
Windsor police have escalated their investigation into a disturbing assault at a downtown business, issuing an arrest warrant for one suspect while actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying a second individual connected to the incident. The assault occurred at a store located in the 500 block of Ouellette Avenue on Saturday, March 14, 2026, prompting a swift response from law enforcement authorities.
Details of the Assault Incident
Officers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. on March 14 following reports of an assault. According to police, the incident began when a female suspect visited the business, made a purchase, and then left the premises. However, she returned a short time later accompanied by a male suspect, claiming she had purchased the wrong product.
This claim sparked a verbal altercation between the suspects and an employee at the store. The situation quickly escalated when the male suspect began throwing and damaging items within the business premises. Police reports indicate that both suspects then assaulted the employee, with the male suspect allegedly using a store item to strike the employee multiple times during the confrontation.
Suspect Descriptions and Charges
Windsor police have issued a warrant for the arrest of the 37-year-old male suspect, who faces serious charges including assault with a weapon, assault, and mischief under $5,000. He is described as a black male, standing 5'8" tall with a slender build and dreadlocks.
Meanwhile, investigators continue to work diligently to identify the second female suspect involved in the assault. She is described as a black female, approximately 30 to 45 years old, standing 5'4" tall with a medium build and black hair. At the time of the incident, she was reportedly wearing a grey sweater, beige toque, blue jeans, and black-and-white running shoes.
