Flagship fireworks show lights up river valley
Edmonton’s signature Canada Day fireworks display will illuminate the central river valley starting at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, based at Kinsmen Park. The City of Edmonton recommends viewing from Queen Elizabeth Park, Victoria Park, or Constable Ezio Faraone Park for optimal sightlines. The fireworks will also be visible from the Alberta legislature grounds, near the High Level Bridge on 109 Street, Government House Park, and other spots along the North Saskatchewan River valley. No viewing will be allowed from Kinsmen Park itself, and pedestrian access will be blocked; park amenities including the playground, tennis courts, and picnic areas close at 6 a.m. on Canada Day.
FIFA World Cup celebrations at Ice District
Edmonton is one of a handful of Canadian cities hosting official FIFA World Cup festivities on Canada Day. The event takes place at the Ice District’s Fan Park, with doors opening at 9 a.m. Activities include soccer-themed games, live music, food vendors, and watch parties for three World Cup matches scheduled at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m.
Alberta legislature grounds programming
The Alberta legislature building and its grounds will host Canada Day events from noon to 5 p.m., featuring musical performances, family-friendly entertainment, yard games, open-house tours of the legislature, and food trucks.
Edmonton Riverhawks baseball on Canada Day
The Edmonton Riverhawks will play the Bellingham Bells at Re/Max Field starting at 7:05 p.m., with special Canada Day programming alongside the game. Fans are invited to celebrate Canada’s birthday at the ballpark.
Mill Woods Park fireworks and daytime fun
Mill Woods Park will offer live music and entertainment on the main stage from 2 p.m. onward, plus train rides, interactive soccer activities, carnival games, food trucks, and artisan vendors. Fireworks begin at 11 p.m.
Fort Edmonton Park historical celebrations
Fort Edmonton Park will showcase Canadian history and cultural heritage with curated programming for all ages, including exhibits on diverse communities that have shaped the country.
