Cyclist hospitalized after Richmond hit-and-run: police

A cyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after a hit-and-run collision in Richmond, B.C., on Saturday evening, according to local police. The Richmond RCMP reported that the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of No. 5 Road and Cambie Road.

Victim in serious condition

The cyclist, a 45-year-old man, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say he remains in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a white pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150, with front-end damage. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.

Police appeal for witnesses

RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact them. “We are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help us identify the driver,” said Cpl. Ian Henderson of the Richmond RCMP. “Hit-and-runs are serious offenses, and we are committed to finding the person responsible.”

This incident adds to a series of recent traffic-related incidents in the region. Earlier this week, a 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run in Brampton, Ontario, and an SUV driver was charged with impaired driving in a separate fatal crash.
