Stabbing Near Brampton School Leads to Arrest
Peel Regional Police have reported that a male suspect was taken into custody following a stabbing incident on Friday morning near a Brampton school. The victim, a teenage boy, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The event occurred around 8:25 a.m. in the vicinity of McMurchy Avenue South and Elgin Drive.
Authorities described the incident as an isolated event. Following the stabbing, Brampton Centennial Secondary School was placed under lockdown, while Bishop Francis Allen Catholic Elementary School implemented a hold-and-secure protocol as the suspect fled the scene. A significant police presence was deployed to the area, and within 30 minutes, the suspect was apprehended. The schools were subsequently reopened after the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing, according to police officials.
Greektown Break-Ins: Suspect Wanted
Toronto police are requesting the public's assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with two break-and-enter incidents in the Greektown neighborhood. The first incident occurred on April 15 at approximately 2:20 a.m., when the suspect allegedly damaged the front door of an establishment near Danforth Avenue and Logan Avenue before entering and attempting to steal property. The second incident took place on April 18, when the suspect reportedly used an object to break through the front door of a convenience store in the same area, ransacking the business and stealing items.
The suspect has been identified as Peter Maroulis, 55, of Toronto. He is wanted for two counts of break and enter and one count of breach of probation. Maroulis is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build. At the time of the incidents, he was wearing a baseball hat and dark clothing. Prowling Suspect Sought in Riverdale
Toronto Police are also seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a prowl-by-night investigation in the Riverdale area. The investigation began after a report that the suspect was observed prowling on private property in the Broadview Avenue and Hogarth Avenue area on April 16 around 1:25 a.m. Security camera footage captured the suspect looking into several windows of a house.
The male suspect is described as approximately 30 years old with a medium build, long black hair tied into a bun, a black chinstrap beard or goatee, and was wearing a baseball hat, a light-colored jacket and pants, and carrying a backpack. Vaughan Home Shooting
York Regional Police reported that a residence in Vaughan was targeted in a shooting early Friday morning. The home, located in the Rutherford Road and Weston Road area, was struck by gunfire. Officers responded to the sound of gunshots around 3:40 a.m. and confirmed that the residence had been shot at. The suspects fled the scene, and no injuries were reported. No description of the suspects has been provided. The investigation is ongoing.
