Man Charged After Windsor Stabbing Leaves Victim Injured

A 43-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon following a stabbing in downtown Windsor that sent a 31-year-old man to hospital with serious injuries.

Incident Details

Windsor police responded to a report of a person with a weapon in the 300 block of Church Street at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Officers arrived to find a 31-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound to the abdomen.

Within minutes, police arrested the suspect at the intersection of University Avenue West and Dougall Avenue. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation and Charges

Police said investigators believe the victim and suspect were known to each other. The 43-year-old suspect has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous weapon. The investigation remains ongoing.
