A 34-year-old man from Surrey, B.C., was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 near Hope on Thursday morning. The B.C. Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. PT on June 25, 2026.
Crash details
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Highway 1 was closed in both directions for several hours as police investigated. The highway has since reopened.
