Two Teens Charged in Scarborough Festival Stabbing

Two 16-year-old boys have been charged after a 17-year-old male youth was stabbed at a street festival on Saturday in Scarborough. Toronto Police said the incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. in the Lawrence Avenue East and Birchmount Road area.

Victim Swarmed by Group of Suspects

Police alleged that the 17-year-old victim was at the festival when he encountered the two accused and their group of friends. According to investigators, 10 to 15 suspects approached the victim and engaged him in a physical altercation. During the confrontation, the suspects brandished a knife and stabbed the victim, who was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One of the accused was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the victim and the two accused are known to each other.

Two Rescued After Boat Crash in Etobicoke

In a separate incident, two individuals were rescued on Sunday morning after a boat crashed into rocks along the shoreline at Humber Bay Park East in Etobicoke. Toronto Police said officers responded shortly after 5 a.m. to the park near Marine Parade Drive and Lake Shore Boulevard West. A man and a woman were rescued from the boat by the police marine unit. One patient was taken to a trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries, while the other was taken to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

Toronto Man Wanted for Assault

Toronto Police are seeking 29-year-old Maximiliano Perez Flores for an alleged assault. Police responded on Friday at about 11:20 p.m. to a call for an assault in the St. Clair Avenue and Dufferin Street area. Investigators allege that the victim and suspect became engaged in an argument, and the suspect assaulted and threatened the victim, who sustained serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The victim and suspect are known to each other. Perez Flores is wanted for assault, assault choking, and uttering death threats. He is described as 5-foot-6 with a medium build and short hair. Woman Dies in Mississauga Hit-and-Run

Peel Regional Police said a woman in her 30s has died following an early morning hit-and-run crash in Mississauga on Sunday. Police were called to a fatal collision at about 6:10 a.m. in the Eglinton Avenue and Erin Mills Parkway area. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Initially, police said they were looking for a suspect vehicle described as a light-coloured sedan that fled eastbound on Eglinton from Erin Mills. However, police later withdrew that description, saying the vehicle was actually driven by one of the people who reported the collision. Police said officials are examining vehicle debris recovered at the scene and believe it will help identify the make and model of the suspect vehicle. They also said they have significant video evidence.

Overnight Shooting in Vaughan

York Regional Police said one person was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after an overnight shooting in Vaughan. Officers were called at 2:20 a.m. for a shooting outside a business near Steeles Avenue and Scholes Road. Police said a suspect fled the area and there was no immediate threat to the public.
