A woman has been charged after an eight-hour standoff with police in Saskatoon. The incident, which began on Tuesday evening, ended peacefully early Wednesday morning with no injuries reported.

Police were called to a residence in the 300 block of Avenue R South around 8 p.m. Tuesday following reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman who barricaded herself inside the home. The Saskatoon Police Service's Crisis Negotiation Team and Tactical Support Unit were deployed to the scene.
After several hours of negotiations, the woman surrendered peacefully at approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday. She was taken into custody without incident. Police confirmed that no weapons were involved and that the woman was alone in the residence.
Charges Laid
The 34-year-old woman has been charged with mischief and breach of probation. She is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Thursday. Her name has not been released pending the court appearance.
