A 36-year-old woman has been charged following a knife attack at a business in the Riverside Park area of Windsor on May 7.

Incident Details

According to Windsor Police, officers responded to a report of a person with a knife at a business in the 5300 block of Wyandotte Street East shortly after 10:40 a.m. The suspect, unknown to the victim, approached a man as he walked to work and followed him through the employee entrance.

Once inside, the suspect began yelling, grabbed a large knife from the kitchen, and advanced aggressively toward employees while swinging the weapon. While still holding the knife, she broke multiple items, demanded money from the register, and threatened a victim.

Arrest and Charges

Employees fled the business and contacted police. One employee then re-entered and restrained the suspect until officers arrived. No physical injuries were reported, and the suspect was arrested without incident.

The 36-year-old woman faces the following charges:

  • Two counts of assault with a weapon
  • Robbery
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

Due to the suspect's mental health status, police are not releasing her identity.
