Wittman Fakes Call to Dodge Social Security Query

Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Va.) was caught on video Tuesday pretending to take a phone call to avoid answering a reporter's question about potential cuts to Social Security. The incident occurred when a MeidasTouch reporter asked Wittman, 'Congressman, what is Mike Johnson’s secret plan to cut Social Security?'

Wittman's Evasive Maneuver

In response, Wittman pulled out his phone and held it to his ear, claiming, 'Yeah, I’ll be there in just a few minutes. I’m heading your way right now.' However, the phone's screen remained visible to the camera, showing no active call. Wittman continued the ruse for roughly 90 seconds as the reporter repeated the question, eventually walking away without comment.

Previous Incident

This is not the first time Wittman has employed this tactic. DropSiteNews reporter Julian Andreone shared a clip of Wittman using the same fake phone call maneuver just last week. 'Oh hey! He did this to me & @DropSiteNews last week!' Andreone wrote on X, highlighting a pattern of avoidance.
