Barrie Colts Coach Takes Blame for Bizarre Postgame Conference
Colts Coach Admits 'Big Oopsie' in Viral Presser

Barrie Colts head coach Dylan Smoskowitz publicly apologized on Tuesday for his unusual behavior during a postgame press conference following Game 7 of the Ontario Hockey League Eastern Conference Final on Monday night. The press conference, which took place in Brantford, Ontario, quickly went viral on social media due to Smoskowitz's erratic responses and apparent confusion.

Coach Admits Mistake

In a statement released Tuesday morning, Smoskowitz said, "That was a big oopsie. I take full responsibility for my actions. I was not prepared for the questions and let my emotions get the best of me. I apologize to the players, the organization, and the fans." He did not provide further details about what led to his behavior.

The incident occurred after the Colts lost to the Brantford Bulldogs, ending their playoff run. During the press conference, Smoskowitz appeared distracted, gave nonsensical answers, and at one point seemed to forget the score of the game. Co-captain Kashawn Aitcheson, who sat beside him, appeared visibly uncomfortable.

Reaction from the League

The OHL released a brief statement saying they are aware of the situation and are reviewing it. No disciplinary action has been announced yet. The Colts organization also expressed support for their coach, stating that they believe his apology was sincere.

Smoskowitz, who has been the Colts' head coach for three seasons, led the team to a strong playoff performance before falling short in Game 7. The team is expected to address the media again later this week.
