Three Former Roughriders Selected for Plaza of Honour Induction in 2026
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have officially revealed the latest class of inductees for the club's prestigious Plaza of Honour. Receiver Rob Bagg, offensive lineman Dan Clark, and kicker Paul McCallum will be enshrined in October 2026, marking a significant milestone as the first time since 2004 that the full induction list features three Canadian players.
Paul McCallum: A Kicking Legend
Paul McCallum stands out as the longest-tenured Roughrider among the trio, having played for the squad from 1994 to 2005, with an additional stint in the 2015 season. His remarkable career statistics place him among the franchise's all-time greats. McCallum ranks second in team history with 1,615 points, 368 field goals, and 408 converts, while holding the top spot for punts (1,116) and yardage (45,670).
In 2022, McCallum, who also played for the B.C. Lions between his tenures with the Roughriders, was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Over his career with the Green and White, he appeared in 185 regular-season games and nine postseason contests, solidifying his legacy as a key contributor to the team's success.
Rob Bagg: From Undrafted to Star Receiver
Rob Bagg's journey to the Plaza of Honour is a testament to perseverance and skill. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2007 out of Queen's University, Bagg played for the Roughriders from 2008 to 2017. He was named the team's top Canadian in 2009 and 2015, and earned West Division all-star honors in 2014.
In 2013, Bagg played a pivotal role in helping the Roughriders win the Grey Cup, marking his second championship appearance. Throughout his career, he played 143 regular-season games, finishing sixth all-time in club history with 364 catches, tenth with 4,706 receiving yards, and thirteenth with 24 touchdown catches.
Dan Clark: A Homegrown Talent
Dan Clark, a Regina product, joined the Roughriders in 2012 as a territorial junior from the Regina Thunder and played through 2022. He was a member of Saskatchewan's 2013 championship team and developed into the team's starting centre, earning all-star recognition in 2019.
Clark was twice named the team's top offensive lineman (2019 and 2021) and in 2022, he received the CFL's Jake Gaudaur Veterans' Award. In total, he played 131 regular-season games and nine playoff games with the Roughriders, showcasing his durability and leadership on the field.
Ceremony and Legacy
The trio will be honored during a special ceremony at halftime of Saskatchewan's game on October 17 against the Montreal Alouettes. With their induction, the Plaza of Honour will now recognize 146 individuals and four teams, celebrating the rich history and contributions of those who have shaped the Roughriders franchise.
This announcement highlights the enduring impact of Canadian players in the CFL and underscores the Roughriders' commitment to honoring their legacy. Fans and the football community alike can look forward to celebrating these inductees as they take their rightful place among the team's legends.
