Cereals Canada Elects Adam Dyck as New Board Chair

Adam Dyck, an industry representative from Warburtons, has been elected Chair of the Cereals Canada Board of Directors, effective immediately. Dyck will guide the organization's efforts to strengthen Canada's reputation as a trusted supplier of high-quality wheat, durum, barley, and oats.

New Executive Committee and Board Leadership

The executive committee includes Josh Boersen, a producer representative from Grain Farmers of Ontario, as Vice-Chair; Rob Stone, a producer representative from Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission, as Secretary; and Jean-Marc Ruest, an industry representative from Richardson International, as Treasurer. The Board also welcomed four newly elected directors: Emiley Saunders (Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission), Korey Peters (Manitoba Crop Alliance), Doug Martin (Manitoba Crop Alliance), and Scott Jespersen (Alberta Grains).

Outgoing Chair Brett Halstead, a producer representative from Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission who operates a mixed farm near Nokomis, Saskatchewan, served as Chair since 2024. In 2025, Halstead led the board in implementing a new strategic plan for Cereals Canada. Other departing directors include producer representatives Gregg Fotheringham (Manitoba Crop Alliance), Boris Michaleski (Manitoba Crop Alliance), and Greg Sears (Alberta Grains), as well as industry representative Jared Veness (BASF Canada).

Impact on Canada's Cereals Sector

Cereals Canada represents the interests of wheat, durum, barley, and oat producers, exporters, and processors, focusing on market development, customer engagement, and innovation.
