East Windsor Overnight Closures and Lane Reductions on E.C. Row Underway

Lane reductions are currently in effect on E.C. Row Expressway and County Road 22 in East Windsor, as part of a multimillion-dollar interchange construction project. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure and improve traffic flow in the region.

Detailed Schedule of Lane Closures

Following overnight closures on Monday, eastbound lanes on E.C. Row Expressway will be closed again from 8 p.m. on Tuesday to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, weather permitting. Additionally, westbound lane restrictions on County Road 22 between Manning Road and Lesperance Road will be in place from noon to 6 a.m. until Friday morning.

Further closures include westbound lanes on County Road 22 at Lesperance Road, scheduled from 8 p.m. on Wednesday to 6 a.m. on Thursday, and again from 8 p.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday. Detour signs will be installed to guide motorists during these periods along the busy corridors.

Project Scope and Timeline

The construction project involves building an overpass at Banwell Road and E.C. Row, along with infrastructure improvements and the widening of the Banwell Road corridor. Banwell Road will eventually feature six lanes from the expressway south to Intersection Road, tapering to four lanes just south of the CPKC Railway, and merging with the upcoming County of Essex Banwell Road widening project.

According to the City of Windsor, the overall E.C. Row/Banwell interchange project, costing over $110 million, is expected to be substantially complete by 2027. Final work, including surface asphalt, is scheduled for completion in 2028.

Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and expect delays during the construction period. The project aims to significantly improve traffic efficiency and safety in East Windsor upon completion.
