British Columbia native Pamela Anderson has publicly described an uncomfortable encounter with fellow Vancouver-area star Seth Rogen at the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony, stating she felt "yucky" being near him.
The Awkward Golden Globes Encounter
Anderson, a resident of Ladysmith, B.C., detailed the experience during an interview on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show. The incident occurred on January 11, 2024, in Los Angeles, where both celebrities were in attendance. Anderson was a presenter at the event, while Rogen was celebrating winning two awards for his series The Studio.
"Seth Rogen, he did that (series) without talking to me, you know Pam & Tommy, and that was another — I just felt like, 'Eh.' You know?" Anderson told Cohen. She expressed frustration that someone would "make a TV series out of the difficult times in your life" while she is a "living, breathing human being."
The Root of the Discomfort: 'Pam & Tommy'
The source of Anderson's lingering displeasure stems from Rogen's involvement in the 2022 Hulu television series Pam & Tommy. Rogen served as an executive producer and had a starring role in the eight-part drama.
The series dramatizes the scandal surrounding the leaked private videotape of Anderson and her then-husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, which was stolen and distributed after their 1995 honeymoon. In her 2023 Netflix documentary, Pamela, a Love Story, Anderson revealed the profound personal and professional devastation the leak caused, contributing to the end of her marriage in 1998.
Moving Forward, But Hoping for an Apology
Anderson noted that Rogen was in "the pit at the Golden Globes," placing them in close proximity. "I don't know. It just felt a little yucky," she recounted. While she expressed a hope that Rogen might eventually reach out to apologize, she downplayed its ultimate importance, adding, "Not that it matters."
Demonstrating resilience, Anderson concluded to Cohen that she is focused on the present. "Everything's good," she said. "I mean there's worse things going on in the world." Anderson is currently enjoying a career resurgence, having been nominated for a Golden Globe in 2025 for her role in the film The Last Showgirl.
As Rogen prepares to shoot the second season of The Studio, some observers speculate a guest appearance by Anderson could serve as a symbolic Hollywood olive branch. The full interview with Andy Cohen is scheduled to air on January 20, 2024.
