A tragic apartment fire in Montreal has resulted in two fatalities and six injuries. The Montreal Fire Department responded to the blaze early Thursday morning, which broke out in a residential building in the city's Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
Details of the Incident
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find heavy smoke and flames engulfing parts of the three-story building. Crews worked quickly to evacuate residents and contain the fire, but two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. Six others were transported to local hospitals with injuries ranging from smoke inhalation to burns. Their conditions have not been disclosed.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Montreal Fire Department and local police. Officials have not yet determined whether the fire was accidental or suspicious. An update is expected later today.
