One person is dead and another has been rushed to hospital via emergency run after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday afternoon, according to Toronto police.

The shooting occurred on July 6, 2026, in the Scarborough area of Toronto. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found two victims at the scene. One was pronounced dead, while the other was transported to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Toronto police have cordoned off the area and are canvassing for evidence. Homicide detectives have taken over the case. No suspects have been arrested, and the motive remains unclear.
