Ex-Convict Describes Ghislaine Maxwell as 'Very Nasty' and 'Hated' in Prison
Ex-Convict Calls Ghislaine Maxwell 'Very Nasty' in Prison

A former inmate who shared prison time with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has provided a scathing account of the disgraced socialite's behavior behind bars, describing her as "very nasty" and "hated" by both staff and fellow prisoners.

Prison Pariah Status

According to Raven Johnson, a pseudonym used by the ex-convict who was incarcerated for drug offenses, Maxwell faced severe ostracism due to her crimes. Johnson explained that in the prison hierarchy, sex offenders are viewed as "trash" and the "lowest of the low," regardless of their wealth or social status outside prison walls.

"People don't look at you as if you're actually even human," Johnson told The UK Sun. "You're less than. If you have crimes against children, you're s***. It doesn't matter how much money you have or who you are in the real world, people aren't going to respect you."

Entitled Behavior and Poor Hygiene

Johnson, who was imprisoned with Maxwell at the Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee in Florida from November 2023 to November 2025, detailed numerous instances of Maxwell's entitled behavior. The former inmate claimed Maxwell would regularly cut in line during meal times, with prison staff allowing her to bypass dozens of waiting inmates.

Perhaps more disturbing were the hygiene allegations. Johnson reported that Maxwell exercised daily but "rarely showered" afterward, creating noticeable odor issues even in an environment already known for unpleasant smells.

Staff Animosity and Excessive Complaints

The former convict revealed that prison staff "f***ing hated" Maxwell, partly due to her filing over 800 complaints in a single year. Despite this animosity, Maxwell's complaints often resulted in special treatment being granted to her.

"This lady, her sense of entitlement was just ridiculous," Johnson stated. "There could be 50 or 60 people standing in the chow hall line. She's walked past me several times. People just look at her like, 'Oh, whatever. It's Maxwell.'"

Prison Reactions and Limited Social Circle

Johnson described Maxwell becoming visibly upset when other inmates watched the true crime television series Who is Ghislaine Maxwell? The former socialite's limited social circle in prison reportedly included individuals convicted of serious crimes, including a murderer and someone with severe child sex charges.

Despite her generally unpleasant demeanor, Maxwell did provide some assistance to fellow inmates, teaching etiquette and helping with legal paperwork. Notably, she never discussed Jeffrey Epstein or any of her former high-profile associates during these interactions.

Transfer and Final Assessment

Maxwell was transferred from FCI Tallahassee to a minimum-security facility in Bryan, Texas, in August 2025. Johnson's final assessment of the convicted sex trafficker was unequivocal: "She's not a nice person. She's not a good person. She's s***."

The revelations come from an inmate who served alongside Maxwell during a significant portion of her incarceration following her conviction for sex trafficking minors as part of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal enterprise. Maxwell, now 64, was Epstein's longtime associate and played a key role in facilitating his abuse network that targeted underage girls across multiple countries.
