Two Separate Crashes in Windsor-Essex Result in Impaired Driving Charges

Two distinct single-vehicle collisions in the Windsor-Essex region have led to impaired driving charges against local residents, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety and substance-impaired driving.

First Incident in Tecumseh

The initial crash occurred on March 11 at approximately 5 p.m. in Tecumseh. Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Tecumseh Road and Dorset Park.

A 59-year-old Windsor woman was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of impaired driving. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this incident.

Second Incident in Essex

Later that same day, at about 9:30 p.m., police responded to another single-vehicle crash on Ferriss Road near 5th Concession Road in the Town of Essex. Officers discovered a vehicle in the ditch.

A 57-year-old Essex man was arrested and faces multiple charges including impaired driving, failure to comply with a demand, and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Legal Consequences and Court Proceedings

Both drivers received immediate 90-day license suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for seven days following the incidents.

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor to answer to their respective charges.
