Chatham-Kent Man Charged in Historical Sexual Assault of Minor
York Regional Police have charged Michael Geniole, 73, of Chatham-Kent, with three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual interference. The charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred between 1997 and 1999, when the victim was under the age of 16. The investigation began in June 2026 after the victim came forward.

Toronto Man Arrested in Sexual Assault Investigation
Toronto police have charged Gebrehiwot Tesfamariam, 75, of Toronto, with sexual assault. The alleged incident occurred in September 2015 in the Sackville-Dundas Streets area. Police were made aware of the assault on May 12, 2026. It is alleged the victim was aboard an elevator with the suspect when the assault occurred.

Suspect Sought in Assault and Stabbing Cases
Toronto Police are also seeking Kelly Osborne, 47, of Toronto, for assault and assault with a weapon. On June 29, 2026, at about 1 a.m., police responded to a call in the Queen Street East-Balsam Avenue area. The victim and suspect allegedly had a verbal altercation before the suspect assaulted the victim and fled. The victim later disclosed a previous incident where the suspect allegedly assaulted them with a weapon. Osborne is described as 6-foot-5 with a skinny build, long dark hair, and unshaven.
In a separate incident, police are asking for help identifying a man wanted in an unprovoked stabbing. On June 28, 2026, at around 12:45 p.m., in the Danforth Avenue-Main Street area, the suspect allegedly approached the victim from behind, stabbed them in the back, and fled. The suspect is described as a male in his late 20s, about 5-foot-10, with a goatee, wearing a dark plaid sweater and blue jeans.

Montreal Man Charged in Human Trafficking Probe
York Regional Police have charged Phillippe Mokoko, 38, of Montreal, with 14 charges related to human trafficking. In May 2026, during a proactive enforcement investigation targeting the advertising of sexual services, police identified a victim at a hotel in the area of Highway 7 and Leslie Street in Markham. The victim said they had been lured to Ontario from British Columbia under false pretenses and were trafficked and exploited in the sex trade.
Investigators identified additional victims and linked the suspect to an ongoing human trafficking investigation in Montreal. They believe there may be more victims in Ontario, B.C., Quebec, and elsewhere in Canada. The suspect allegedly presented himself online as a motivational speaker and fitness instructor, using the usernames “Coach Dreamz” and “Dreamz.bigg,” and was known to frequent gyms across Canada. Mokoko faces charges including trafficking and breach of probation.
