A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Brampton late Thursday evening, according to Peel Regional Police. The incident occurred at the intersection of Queen Street East and Kennedy Road around 9:30 p.m. The victim, a 34-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved fled the area before police arrived. Investigators are searching for a dark-colored sedan with front-end damage.
Second Crash in Downtown Toronto
Hours earlier, a separate crash in downtown Toronto left one person injured and two suspects on the run. Toronto Police responded to a collision at Yonge Street and Dundas Square at approximately 4:15 p.m. A vehicle struck a pedestrian before fleeing the scene. The pedestrian, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses reported seeing two individuals exit the vehicle and run southbound on Yonge Street. Police have not yet identified the suspects.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
In both cases, authorities are appealing for dashcam footage and witness statements. Peel Regional Police Constable Sarah Williams stated, “We urge anyone with information to come forward. Hit-and-run incidents are devastating, and we are committed to finding those responsible.” Toronto Police are also asking the public to report any tips. No arrests have been made in either incident.
