N.B. RCMP seek vehicle after drive-by shooting near Woodstock

The New Brunswick RCMP is asking for the public's help to locate a vehicle following a drive-by shooting that occurred just outside Woodstock. The incident took place on July 7, 2026, and no injuries were reported, according to police.

Details of the incident

Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Route 103 near Woodstock around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of a shooting but no victims at the scene. The suspects fled in a dark-coloured sedan, described as a four-door vehicle with tinted windows.

Investigation and public appeal

The RCMP has released few details but confirmed that the shooting appears to be targeted. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses. Anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area at the time is urged to contact the Woodstock RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.

“We are treating this incident very seriously and are dedicating all necessary resources to identify those responsible,” said Cpl. Hans Ouellet of the New Brunswick RCMP. “We ask anyone who saw suspicious activity or the described vehicle to come forward.”

Residents in the rural community expressed shock at the violence. The Woodstock area, typically quiet, has seen a rise in property crimes but few shootings. Local officials have pledged support for the investigation.
