One person is dead and several others are injured following a collision in Saint-Alban, Quebec, early Saturday morning. Provincial police confirmed the incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Route 138.
Details of the crash
According to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sergeant Béatrice Dorsainville, the collision involved two vehicles. The cause is under investigation, but initial reports suggest one vehicle crossed the center line. Emergency services transported multiple injured individuals to local hospitals.
“The driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene,” Dorsainville said. “The other driver and passengers sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.”
Ongoing investigation
Police have closed Route 138 in both directions for the investigation. A collision reconstruction team is on site. Authorities are asking witnesses to come forward.
