Police Response and Charges
Black Mountain police responded to a call at the restaurant around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found that patrons had already subdued the suspect, identified as 34-year-old John Doe. He was taken into custody without further incident. Police said the man entered the restaurant and brandished a handgun, making threats toward employees. Witnesses reported that several diners tackled the suspect and held him until authorities arrived.
Community Reaction
Restaurant owner Sarah Johnson expressed gratitude to the quick-thinking guests. “We are relieved that no one was hurt. Our staff and customers acted bravely,” she told reporters.
