Police responded to a call at approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 25. The employee, who was not identified, was sprayed with pepper spray after denying the teen access. The employee suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The teen fled but was later located and arrested without incident.

Charges laid

The 17-year-old faces charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The accused cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
