Brandon Taylor Moore, a 45-year-old former Saskatoon real estate agent, pleaded guilty Monday in Saskatoon provincial court to one count of inciting hatred against an identifiable group. The charge states that the incitement was likely to lead to a breach of peace.
Details of the Guilty Plea
Moore, who is representing himself, entered the plea before Judge Sanjeev Anand. According to provincial court documents, the offences occurred between Feb. 1, 2024 and Dec. 17, 2025. The guilty plea was for inciting hatred, a charge that carries serious legal consequences under Canadian hate speech laws.
Background of the Case
Moore was first charged in December 2025 after Saskatoon police received a report in 2024 about an individual making antisemitic comments online. The hate crime unit investigated, identified Moore, and executed a search warrant at his home. During the search, officers seized digital evidence as well as a firearm, leading to an additional charge of careless storage of a firearm.
In January 2026, further charges were laid against Moore, including willful promotion of hatred against an identifiable group and willful promotion of antisemitism by downplaying or denying the Holocaust. These additional charges reflect the severity of the alleged online conduct.
Sentencing and Other Charges
Moore is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 28 for sentencing. He is currently not in custody. Court documents indicate that the Crown plans to issue stays and will not prosecute the firearms charge, along with two other charges for promoting hatred. This means the guilty plea on the inciting hatred charge resolves the majority of the case.
The case highlights the ongoing legal efforts in Saskatchewan to address hate speech and antisemitism, particularly in online spaces. The Saskatoon Star Phoenix continues to cover this story as it develops.
