Emergency Alert Issued for Missing Senior in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia RCMP have issued an emergency alert for 82-year-old Victor Andrews, who was last seen on July 1, 2026, near his residence in Upper Vaughan, N.S. The alert was broadcast to mobile devices and media outlets early Thursday morning.

According to police, Andrews was last seen wearing a blue jacket and dark pants. He is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with grey hair and blue eyes. Family members reported him missing after he failed to return home.

Search Efforts Underway

Ground search teams, including police officers, search and rescue volunteers, and a canine unit, are combing the wooded areas around Upper Vaughan. The RCMP helicopter has also been deployed to assist in the search from above.

“We are asking anyone in the Upper Vaughan area to check their properties, including sheds, outbuildings, and vehicles,” said Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay, RCMP spokesperson. “Time is of the essence, especially with the current heat warnings across the province.”

Public Asked to Help

Police urge residents to call 911 immediately if they see Andrews. They caution against approaching him, but to keep him in sight until officers arrive. The emergency alert will remain active until Andrews is located or further updates are provided.

This is the second emergency alert for a missing senior in Nova Scotia this year. In January, a 76-year-old man with dementia was found safe after a similar alert.
