The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is requesting public assistance to identify a suspect believed to have deliberately set fire to a community league rink in south Edmonton on May 24.
Incident Details
Officers responded to reports of fire damage at approximately 5:30 a.m. at the rink located near 113 Street and 25 Avenue. Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set. Surveillance video captured a male suspect at the scene.
The suspect is described as wearing black pants, a black jacket, and black-and-white running shoes. He was also seen with white over-ear headphones around his neck and carrying a dark-colored backpack.
Police Appeal
EPS is urging anyone with information to come forward. The suspect's identity remains unknown, and authorities believe public tips could be crucial to solving the case.
According to EPS, the arson caused significant damage to the community rink, a valued local facility used by residents for recreational activities.
