Two Toronto men have been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation in Guelph that involved youths, according to police. Brian Allard and Jameel Ahmed Dosu are facing multiple charges following an investigation by the Guelph Police Service's Human Trafficking Unit.
Police allege that the two men exploited youths in the Guelph area. The investigation began after authorities received a tip from the public. Officers executed search warrants at several locations in Guelph and Toronto, leading to the arrests.
Allard, 34, and Dosu, 29, have been charged with trafficking in persons under 18 years of age, material benefit from trafficking, and other related offenses. Both appeared in a Guelph court and were remanded into custody.
Police are urging anyone with information about this case or similar incidents to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be laid.
Human trafficking remains a serious concern in Canada, with youths being particularly vulnerable. Authorities continue to work with community organizations to combat this crime and support victims.
